January update

Ella, beautiful Ella is growing up so fast! She is learning so many words! New ones are "peek-a-boo", "raisins", "bird" and "Jeff". She has become so independent and helpful around the house. In Jamie's class, they talked about how kids that age are not helpful, but Ella can and loves to throw things away, help put dishes away, really help with laundry, wash her hands and brush her teeth by herself. (Not helpful, bah!) She feels like such a big girl and it is fun to see her learning so much!

Jamie is busy with school and babysitting two additional children, both under 2 (every other day). She recently got a job in December as an extra in a TV show that will be filmed here in Rexburg, as well as she should get to do some off-set work for the company as a work study. So far, the work has been moving quite slow when it comes to being an extra, there are even rumors of not needing them after all. As for off-set, she is qualified and they will let her know when they need her. Maybe in February. She, along with Sarah, Rachel and Dan Patten will all graduate with 2/4 year degrees in April.

Bob keeps busy with the Standard Journal and loves it when everyone is in the work room, it makes his job much easier! In his spare time, he is working on a book. Because of our schedules, we have struggled to eat dinner together, but we decided that instead of dinner like normal people, we can have lunch together as a family just before Bob leaves for work and Ella goes down for a nap. It is great time for us to spend with each other, even if it is for only an hour or so.

So that's the long and short of the happenings at the Pattens. We'll see if we can keep this up monthly...some encouragement in that direction would be appreciated!
