Gettin' hitched

Surprise! Bob is not the only one married anymore of his siblings. Rachel and Jonathan were married Sept 4 at the Draper Temple!

Except for being windy, the day was perfect. (I sure could have used a clip or something to tame my mane...)

James got his first real tie and he loves it! Especially 'cause Uncle Gerald had the exact same one.

After that, they were inseperable.

Ella was an adorable flower girl. I told her Rachel had a special dress for her and she wanted to share the special day with her. Ella interpreted that, and kept telling everyone, "it's Rachel's and my special day." (Your's too Jonathan :)

It was extra special to have Uncle Gene (in the cap) perform the ceremony. It really does make a difference with a family member.


When Rachel first came up to BYUI, my cousin Michelle and she roomed together. Thank goodness 'cause Michelle, who went down for the wedding was the only one who knew how to straighten the cloths in the boys suit pockets (whatever those things are called) And the only one people trusted to pin on flowers. And the one who made Ella's adorable head piece! And the one who did Rachel's hair! She is a pretend Patten and we are flattered! We'll take her :) and David, too. You did awesome as usual. Thanks for everything!


So answers: Yes, we went to California when Rachel got back from her mission...and no we were not planning a wedding while she was gone. Jonathan has stayed in touch with Rachel and our family since Rachel left on her mission and honestly, we thought the wedding would happen quick or possibly not at all. He even promised himself he wouldn't pop the question the first time they saw eachother again. So we didn't know when, but we hoped it would happen. We were never so excited to change our plans and go to Utah a few weeks later than expected to be present as they became husband and wife, married for time and all eternity. Congratualtions, you two. We love you. Welcome to the family officially, Jonathan!
