Wonder of wonders, miracle of miracles

James is walking, talking and EATING. Christmas eve, we took James to the Dr. since he wasn't eating anything and he only weighed 18 lbs. We were a little worried about his growth and very happy to have the allergy refferal, although the appointment was a little ways out...but in the last few weeks James has started walking a lot more, talking and repeating words we say and not only eating, but eating everything and not reacting.

On Tuesday, I brought a vegetable quiche and fruit pizza home from my coking class. (Bob has decided Tuesday is his favorite day :) Instead of sharing food with everyone but James, we thought we'd see if he would react to it...clear and white, no rash, no bumps. From then on, he has had everything, including ketchup and fry sauce! He loved those little sauce cups at Dairy Queen and even though we put ice cream in one...he didn't like it as much as the fry sauce! It was so gross, but really funny to watch him eat it with a spoon. ewwww! He loved it though, so we let him eat a few of them. He was in heaven.

It is so weird to give James everything we are eating all of a sudden, instead of keeping it away from him. Life is much easier :) Today, I gave him a piece of bread for the first time and he loved it. Because of his food issues, he has only been able to take the water for the sacrament, but this Sunday he will get the bread as well. What a blessing and miracle. His body has finally matured and after all the intolerances, he is growing and developing as he should. Hence the talking and walking!

(not a huge difference in this and the top picture, but he is "filling out" more and seems so much happier!)
