Party for a princess

Ella turned five today!

For her last day of being four, Ella and I celebrated by making Gramma McLane's famous fudge! James fell asleep super early at night, so we had "girl time" with chocolate, what could be better?

Ella's birthday wish: Have everyone dress up and go to Gramma McLane's for lunch.
Ella picked out royal clothing for all of us to wear.

She had me try on all my "princess" dresses to find just the right one to wear.

...and then Ella discovered one of my dresses "fit" her! Guess which one she wore today?

Since James likes to dress up, we recently picked up some costumes: Witch, Spider-man and pirate.

Here we are all decked out. Even James let us dress him up. (Thank goodness!)

In the cafeteria, one of the ladies in charge found us a table and had the entire room sing "Happy Birthday" to Ella. She loved the attention and saying "Thank you" into the microphone.

Soon after, they brought Ella (only Ella) this!

She shared with James while the parents ate...

Grilled cheese/Turkey sandwiches were served followed by more boston cream pie all around. Princesses eat dessert before and after the meal :)

Card from Grandma and Grandpa Field (on the phone)
James needed a nap (will he take one, probably not) so we left for home.
While James pretended to sleep, Ella went with Bob to work. With my Ipod :)

Later: off to McDonald's for dinner

James loves the train here, but is "too scared" to go by himself. So here I am, up high in a train and in the bubble with Ella.

Bob was trying out a new hair style....more like showing me how bad he needs a hair cut.

David's here? It's party time!

My kids love David...and Michelle too, but not as much 'cause she takes them from Mommy, when Mommy has to go and David saves them :) It's funny, but it all works out in the end.

Michelle did it again! She made the coolest cake.

It took 3 cake mixes to make in a bowl, cook and turn over! Anybody want cake? (We are bringing some to Utah...like it or not!)

If you haven't caught on my now, Ella likes Princess and the Frog. (Her nickname from birth? Froggy)

"Remember when you were 4?" Ella loves this book from Grammy and Grandpa. She already can't recall some of the pictures and places and constantly asks us for details. She is all about the details...of everything!

Weird Al wrote a book? Bob has been reading it (and laughing) ever since it came in the mail :) Thanks, Blake.

She has been asking and asking for this movie ever since we saw it in theaters last month. Yes, Grandma, she loves it. We have already planned a party with Audrina for tomorrow to watch this (not to her knowledge, though. Sneaky moms :)

It was wonderful day. We especially loved the joy she brought to all the care home residents. It was fun to be part of her wish and we are so blessed she is our daughter. We love you. Happy Birthday, Princess!
