Wondering

We went through a rental house after the wedding festivities. We actually looked at this house 3 weeks earlier, but there were 3 other families that looked at it when we did, so as rentals go in Rexburg, no second chances ;)

But this time, we got a second chance. An email a few days before from the landlord, who happens to have been in Bob and my stake presidency when we were dating, said the property was still available! After we looked at it the first time, I had scared myself into thinking the kitchen was going to cave in on me. It was so dark and narrow...same as the laundry room. Now as a mom, those are the two places I would spent the most time, so claustrophobia was not what I was looking for. But, the last few weeks, we have been kicking ourselves, for not taking the property the first time. So when we found out we still could, we also wanted to see it again. This time without the other tenants stuff in it.

It made all the difference. We turned on all the lights in the kitchen and since boxes were'nt piled up all over, it was actually more spacious than our current gallery kitchen. (the tiny "hallway" at the end is the laundry corner. Dryer to the left, washer to the right, directly across from each other)

After playing 50 questions, we were ready to take it.

We agreed to get the needed documents to him on Monday. We were too excited, we sent everything online before midnight that night. Monday came and because our current landlord is on a mission, it is hard to get in contact with people to verify us a tenants. We even found out our manager was out in North Dakota looking for a job...and he was our emergency contact! Thankfully, we didn't have an emergency, we just wanted to move and be settled by the time Ella started school in the Fall.

Tuesday came and we sent more contact numbers for the new landlord to call. The son of the landlord on a mission, confused us with other tenants and said we were slow, behind in payments, etc. So frustrating! I told Ella and suggested we pray. She asked Heavenly Father to "help the people in the new house like us and help us move in to that house." Within minutes, I got an email from the landlord saying, the son called him back, explained the mistake and he was satisfied we could live in the house!

If we didn't know without a shadow of a doubt, this is where the Lord wanted us to be, we probably would have given up and tried to find something else. We went over that night to the landlord's house to sign the contract and they offered to have us stay for dinner! No way. We have always hoped that one day we would have more than landlords, they would be our friends. We finally found them and we are moving home to Hibbard.

wow! Jamie, you moved! Your kids have sure grown. It's crazy to not check for a few months and see the difference. I am glad things worked out for you to get this place.
