DISNEYLAND! & CA Adventure

The first ride we took Ella on was The Scary Adventures of Snow White... okay the title should have tipped us off, but Bob thought, Oh, Happy dwarfs, she'll love it!
Around each corner, we were covering her eyes and singing happy songs so she wouldn't be scared of the witch and the darkness.
What great parents we are! We totally looked at all the rides in a new light after that experience.

Dumbo-
Ella was just big enough to reach the controller to move Dumbo up and down.
She loved flying--but Daddy wanted to run the controller...silly kids















Toon Town
(Bob and I pretty much avoided this when we came to Disneyland on our honeymoon, but we spent a good deal of time here with Ella)

Then she found the PHONE!















As she was chatting, Pluto came out to see everybody, so we got in line. Ella was still on the phone when it was our turn, so Pluto went up to Ella and put his paw on her back...and Ella flipped out!

Luckily Daddy was there to save her.

















In Goofy's playland, Ella found this piano and played a symphony for us.

She was still scared, but didn't do as bad as with Pluto

After being scared once more by Pluto, who came waltzing in a park we were resting in, we met up with my parents at the Golden Horseshoe in Frontier Land to watch a fiddling show.















!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!EARTHQUAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This photo was taken just minutes before the 5.4 magnitude earthquake. All of a sudden the whole building rumbled and shook, like a roller coaster had gone by inches from the door...the curtains closed, someone said earthquake and we all got out of there. Some of my relatives were on rides at the time and they had to get out and use the emergency exits, without finishing the rides. Everything was pretty much shut down for 2 hours to wait for the after shocks and to run security checks.

Chew-Chew Train- food and a train, what could be better!
Of course Ella had more fun on the wood rails you can see behind me. She straddled the rail and said "I want to ride it"...Why were we waiting in 20-30 minute lines when a wooden rail would suffice? :)














Of course Bob and I got away to do some "Big Kid" rides and stuff. We rafted the Grizzly River Run and loved that, and then we went on "Soaring Over California", one of Bob's favorites. We attended Disney Animation Academy and learned how to draw Minnie Mouse. I'll let you guess who's is who's...Hint: Bob signed his :) We are definitely not artists but we really enjoyed doing this together.





































We also saw a live production of Aladdin that was amazing! It was a 45 minute show, and Ella was mesmerized by it. After a song was over, she kept asking if it was prayer time.
By the time the show was done, it was WAY past nap time and it showed: we all wanted to cry :(





















These two women were our Asian Angels.
They made faces at Ella and by the time they left we ALL had smiles on our faces.




















All in all we had a great time the two days we were there.
The next morning, we left for Oakdale to spend some time with Bob's family.
